The practical idea

Every conductor has resistance. Current flowing through that resistance creates a voltage drop and heat. Longer cable, higher current and smaller conductor area increase the drop.

What changes the real result?

Electrical installations must follow applicable wiring rules. A quick calculator is useful for comparison, but it does not replace proper cable selection and protection design.
