1. Formula transparency
Where practical, each calculator shows the governing formula and defines the variables so the result can be independently checked.
2. Assumptions are visible
Engineering results often depend on friction, efficiency, material properties, power factor, geometry or installation conditions. Calculators expose these assumptions where they materially affect the answer.
3. Units are part of the calculation
Metric and imperial values are converted using fixed conversion factors. Users should always confirm the selected input units before relying on a result.
4. Rounding
Displayed results are rounded for usability. Do not treat displayed decimal places as a statement of measurement accuracy or design tolerance.
What these tools are for
They are intended for estimation, planning, checking and workshop reference. They can help catch obvious errors and speed up routine calculations.
They do not replace approved drawings, manufacturer data, calibrated measurement, applicable standards, competent engineering judgement or statutory requirements.
